About online resources
Taupō District Libraries subscribes to several subscription databases including Road to IELTS, Access New Zealand digital newspapers, Bridget Williams Books Treaty of Waitangi Collection, Haynes Car and Motorcycle Manuals and the Generosity New Zealand funding database.
Library members can access these online resources for free by using your library card barcode and PIN.
Forgotten your PIN? Follow the login link. Then click “Forgot my PIN” and enter the barcode number on your library card.
Libby by OverDrive
Libby by OverDrive is our eResource for eBooks and eAudiobooks titles.
Access all these easily via the Libby app. Access is free for library members - just enter your library card number and PIN/password. You can borrow up to five items at a time and for up to 21 days.

- Go to the PressReader website.
- Click “Log In” in the top right-hand corner.
- Click the “Library or Group” button.
- Search for “Taupō District Libraries” and select.
- Enter your library card number and PIN.
- Click “I agree to allowing PressReader to verify and exchange my registration with my public library”. Check “stay signed in” if you do not want to continue logging in.
- Click “Log In”. You will then need to click the “Sign-up” button top right of the window.
- Fill in your details to sign up (Valid email, password, first and last name).
- Click “Create my account.”

Every online manual includes 750+ colour pictures, 200+ jobs video tutorials, Wiring diagrams and a Fault finding tool.
IELTS - Road to IELTS (general training)
Free access to self-paced practice and course resources to help candidates prepare for the globally recognised IELTS exam. Road to IELTS is organised into four skill areas: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Each skill area contains an information, advice and video tutorials, interactive practice activities and mock test papers.
Once you have logged in with your Library card barcode and PIN, you can create your own free account to track your progress (using your email address and a password) or continue as a guest.
Treaty of Waitangi collection
The Treaty of Waitangi Collection is a fully searchable collection of eBooks including Claudia Orange’s acclaimed Treaty of Waitangi series, the landmark resource Tangata Whenua: A History by Atholl Anderson, Judith Binney and Aroha Harris, and works by James Belich, Alan Ward and Vincent O’Malley.
Māori Land Court Minute Book Index
You can access the Māori Land Court Minute Book Index (MLCMBI) for free via the University of Auckland website.
The MLCMBI is an index to the volumes of Māori Land Court Minute Books produced by The Māori Land Court — Te Kooti Whenua Māori. The Māori Land Court Minute Books cover court sittings from 1865 to 1910 from the Taitokerau, Waikato-Maniapoto, Tairawhiti, Waiariki, Aotea, Takitimu, and Waipounamu Māori Land Court Districts.
Taupō Library holds physical copies of the Taupō minutes books which are available for reference use only during opening hours.
