Background
Council is proposing to extend the existing drinking water network in Motuoapa.
The project will involve the installation of new water pipes and is estimated to cost $900,000 which has been set aside in the annual plan should the project proceed. The project has been proposed due to requests from some property owners and the health benefits associated with treated drinking water.
Consultation with those property owners not currently connected to the reticulated network is being undertaken as the project will impact their annual rates whether they choose to connect or not. Properties that are not within the project area have not been consulted as there will be no changes to their rates or connections.
The project area is the orange shaded area illustrated in the image below.
