Every three years Council creates a Long-term Plan. The Long-term Plan sets the foundations for everything we want to achieve over a ten-year period. New facilities, new events, improved infrastructure, and sometimes doing less of something, you name it - our Long-term Plan sets us a vision and the pathway for achieving it.
In the years in between, we create an Annual Plan to review our Long-term Plan and make sure we can adjust to changes that happen which influence what we need to do and how we need to do it.
The Annual Plan process helps us to:
✔️ Review what is achievable in the current climate.
✔️ Think about the immediate concerns of our community.
✔️ Consider the District's medium and longer-term needs.
✔️ Balance affordability for you, our ratepayers.
This year's Annual Plan is year three of the 2021–31 Long-term Plan - but it is very different from what year three of the 2021-31 Long-term Plan originally set out. Unprecedented external factors, global recession, inflation, and supply chain shortages have shifted the landscape and forced us to make significant changes. Because of the level of change, we have some specific things we need to hear from you on to create the Annual Plan for 2023-24.
