Fat blockage causes Turangi spill
News
A build-up of fats has been identified as the cause of a wastewater overflow that resulted in between five and ten cubic metres of material entering the wetland area at Turangi's Kohineheke Reserve on Tuesday afternoon.
Contractors used sucker trucks to clean up much of the spill. Signage has been installed in the affected area and is likely to remain in place until early next week.
