Unfortunately there has been a wastewater spill into the lake this morning after a blocked pipe on Gillies Ave caused wastewater to enter the stormwater system.
The spill is near the Lake Terrace and Mere Road intersection. Contractors are on site and are using sucker trucks to clean up as much as possible.
No swimming signs are being put up in the affected area and water samples taken for testing. Please do not enter the water between the signs until our testing gives the all clear. We hope to have the first set of test results tomorrow.
