Changes to facilities for Alert Level 1
Level 1 restrictions are taking us another step closer to how we lived before lockdown, including the return to normal operating hours and services for the majority of our facilities.
Our Taupō District Libraries and Taupō Museum are back to normal hours, however we are not offering any late night service.
Our AC Baths and Turtle Pool facilities are open weekends and public holidays 7am to 7pm and open weekdays between 6am – 7pm. Within the AC baths complex, we aren’t offering any fitness classes yet, but our rockwall is up and running on normal hours for those wishing to defy gravity in their spare time!
The sauna at AC Baths is also closed due to it being between two construction zones with the 25-metre pool closure and the private pool upgrades happening either side of it. Our hydro slides reopen this weekend between 10.30am – 6pm and will be open 4pm – 7pm Monday to Friday.
When the school holidays roll around between July 6 – 20 the slides will operate 10.30am – 7pm Monday to Friday and 10.30 – 6pm on weekends.
Our Superloo is back to normal with charges for using the facilities reinstated, with all other public toilets now open.
All of our facilities are sanitising and cleaning, but compulsory social distancing and contact tracing measures have now been removed.
For any enquiries about anything district-wide our fantastic customer service teams are available for more face-to-face visitors now with the following hours in place Monday to Friday:
Taupō customer service centre: 9am – 5pm
Turangi customer service centre: 9am – 4.30pm
Mangakino customer service centre: 10am – 4pm
