Wastewater spill near control gates bridge

Thanks to the quick work of our team, the leak has been isolated and repairs are now underway.

Council staff and contractors are presently working to identify the cause of a wastewater spill identified this afternoon at the control gates bridge. The assessment at this stage is that limited quantities of wastewater have reached the riverbank.

If you have been on or near the bridge you will have seen a large number of staff and contractors working there to resolve the situation and assess what needs to be done next. We will keep you posted when we have more information.
