It’s time to step into Christmas this Saturday 2 December with the festive Tremains Santa Parade! Just like last Christmas, there will be floats, fun, and most importantly, Santa Claus.
With hundreds of participants, you won’t want to miss out, so check the route below to get your best viewing point. Shops will be open all day so after the parade why not get all your Christmas presents and gifts sorted!
The parade begins at 10:30am on Lake Terrace, turns right onto Ruapehu Street travelling North, then left onto Tamamutu Street before finishing on Tongariro North Domain.
To allow Santa and his helpers get safely through town, the following closures will be in place:
- Lake Terrace (North and South bound lane) from Tītīraupenga Street to Ruapehu Street between 8.30am to 3pm.
- Roberts Street from Tongariro Street to Ruapehu Street between 9am to 3pm.
- Ruapehu Street (North and South bound lane) from Lake Terrace to Tamamutu Street between 9am to 3pm.
- Tamamutu Street (North and South bound lane) from Tongariro Street to Ruapehu Street between 9am to 3pm.
- Tongariro Street (South bound lane) from Spa Road to Tamamutu Street between 9am to 3pm.
Sections of road will progressively open when the tail of the parade has moved through and is safe to do so.
