Mangakino town centre upgrade

Mangakino's town centre has been upgraded with a new playground, seating and shaded areas. The project complements the recent construction of the town's skate park.

Plans were developed in consultation with the community and meetings were held in late 2015 to decide on features and a design.

The community requested more shade in seated areas, the development of a quality playground for small children, a drinking fountain and more seating. Some playground equipment from the old playground has been refurbished and was reinstalled alongside the new equipment.

Work on the upgrade was completed in May 2016.
