The Local Government Rating Act (2002) limits public access to the Rating Information Database (RID) where we hold name and postal address information for rating purposes.
The legislation requires that name and postal address details are made accessible to the public unless we are advised by the property owner in writing that they want the information withheld. Financial transactions cannot be viewed by the public e.g. whether rates have been paid.
The name and postal address information became publicly available from December 31, 2005. Please note that the name and address information will only be made available at our offices and that bulk collection of names and addresses is not permitted under the Act.
If you are happy for your details to appear in the rating information database no action is required on your part.
Ratepayers wishing to withhold their names and/or postal address information must notify us. You can apply online to withhold your name and address from the publicly available rating database by completing the form below.
