Term 1 2025 update

Due to stadium maintenance, Taupō Rockwall term 1 after school programmes will start on the later date of Monday 3 March 2025. The final sessions for term 1 will be on Thursday 10 April.

Registrations can be completed (with payment) via our online portal or at the customer support desk at Taupō Events Centre from Monday 3 February 2025.

Costs for the shorter six week term 1 programme are as follows:

  • Chalkies one session per week: $57.00
  • Chalkies two sessions per week: $72.00
  • Stalactites one session per week: $66.60
  • Stalactites two sessions per week: $85.20

Chalkies climbing club (ages 5-12)

This club encourages school age children to learn and participate in group sessions, building their climbing skills. The termly fee includes tuition and equipment hire (shoes and harness) during classes. Membership also includes access to the Rockwall outside of class times during our opening hours including weekends and school holidays, though equipment will need to be hired during additional visits.

As the children are too young to belay (hold the safety rope), it is a safety requirement that each child be accompanied by a parent or caregiver who will belay for the duration of each session.

  • Class times: Monday and Thursday afternoons from 3.30pm to 5pm.
  • Class fees for full term:
    • Fee for one class per week: $95 (select Monday or Thursday class at the time of enrolment)
    • Fee for two classes per week: $120 (includes both Monday and Thursday classes each week)

Stalactites climbing club (ages 13-17)

In weekly classes we work on technique and fitness, while keeping our club social. The termly fee includes tuition and equipment hire (shoes and harness) during classes. Membership also includes access to the Rockwall outside of class times during our opening hours including weekends and school holidays, though equipment will need to be hired during additional visits.

  • Class times: Monday and Thursday afternoons from 5pm to 7pm.
  • Class fees for full term:
    • Fee for one class per week: $111 (select Monday or Thursday class at the time of enrolment)
    • Fee for two classes per week: $142 (includes both Monday and Thursday classes each week)
