Stormwater connections

In the Taupō District, with the exception of certain areas as set out in the District Plan, private properties are not connected to the stormwater system.

This is because the Taupō District has porous pumice soils that allow most private property rainwater to be easily discharged onsite.

All residential properties with few exceptions are required discharge up to a 1 in 10 year (10 per cent AEP) event to soak holes on the property.
