Boil water notice for Kinloch and Whakaroa
We are asking Kinloch and Whakaroa residents to boil all water for drinking and cooking until further notice.
An issue at the Kinloch Water Treatment Plant means our chlorine dosing system is not functioning correctly.
Heating water to boiling point is sufficient for all water intended for human consumption (for example, drinking, cooking and washing teeth) until further notice. No treatment is required for other usage such as washing clothes or taking a bath or shower.
Taupō District Council will continue to flush and monitor water quality to ensure chlorine levels are adequate and full water treatment is assured.
We will be undertaking daily follow-up sampling this week and will keep you informed when water quality reaches required quality.
If you require further information, please contact customer services on 07 376 0899 in the first instance.
Thanks for your help.
