Road Safety Day 2024

Come along to Road Safety Day and celebrate the work of our local professionals who reduce casualties and care for people affected by crashes.
See Fire and Emergency NZ and Hato Hone St John demonstrate cutting open a car to rescue someone trapped inside, meet our local road safety heroes, and more. There will be live demonstrations, a coffee cart, sausage sizzle and New Zealand Transport Agency display.
Road Safety Day is being held at the end of Road Safety Week which is on 20-26 May. It’s a national community event coordinated by Brake, a charity that works to prevent road deaths and injuries. We can all play a part in making journeys safer for everyone.
Thanks to our road safety partners Hato Hone St John, Greenlea Rescue Helicopter, Taupō Police, and Fire and Emergency NZ.
