Acacia Bay playground
22 October 2015
Hey, Acacia Bay! What do you want in your playground? If you've been feeling like Acacia Bay's Besley Park could use a better playground to make it a more interesting, useful space - you're in luck! We are going to build a new playground in early 2016 and we want your help choosing the equipment.
The new playground will replace much of the old equipment behind the tennis courts, but will be located across the road from the Acacia Bay Community Hall on Wakeman Road.
We will be putting it here because it's easily accessible and visible, but will be nestled among the trees which will make for a great environment for children to explore.
We want our new playground to be safe, attractive, exciting and unique, and are catering mostly for children aged five to 12 years old. We also want to make sure the playground reflects the unique identity of the Acacia Bay community - so this is where you come in!
There are five options we are looking at that were shortlisted by the Acacia Bay Residents' Association, and we want your feedback on which designs you like the most. Different designs have different equipment - from slides and swings to rope structures, see-saws and climbing walls. All the information on the designs is available on our Acacia Playground page, so go and check it out and tell us what you think!
Alternatively, come along to the Acacia Bay Community Hall between 4pm and 6pm on Tuesday, November 3 to share your views.
