Chief executive Rob Williams resigns
12 April 2016
Taupo District Council chief executive Rob Williams has announced his resignation, nine years to the day since taking up the position.
Mr Williams has been appointed chief executive of Thames-Coromandel District Council and will take over the reins on a date yet to be confirmed.
Mr Williams said he was incredibly proud of what had been achieved during his tenure and he would leave knowing both the organisation and the district are in good heart.
It has been an honour and a privilege to have served the Taupo District for the past nine years, he said. I wish the district, the council, and the community every success for the future.
Mayor David Trewavas said Mr Williams had been a game changer' chief executive and had played a key role in transforming both the district and the organisation.
The Taupo District has never been in better shape, said Mr Trewavas. We certainly wish Rob well in his future endeavours.
Recruitment for a new chief executive will begin later this month.
