Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge
25 November 2014
The country's biggest cycling event is back for 2014 and will see about 8000 cyclists riding into town for the event on November 29.
The Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is in its 38th year and this year the Enduro event is being dedicated to the memory of the late Keith Crate, who spent many years as director of the cycle challenge.
The challenge is best known for its 160km Bike Barn Solo event, the one-lap circumnavigation of Lake Taupo, and this is one of 20 categories available. There are both road cycling and mountain bike options for individuals and teams, with something to suit all levels of cycling and fitness abilities.
The district will be buzzing during the cycle challenge weekend with thousands of spectators and supporters flowing into our towns to enjoy the show. Make sure you get out there, see what it's all about and enjoy the action!
