Feedback sought on proposed bylaw changes
18 December 2015
Taupo District Council is seeking feedback on a range of bylaws planned to replace the existing General Bylaw.
The council is proposing to split its existing bylaw into five separate bylaws covering litter, objectionable signs, reserves and public places, animals and birds and bees, and trading in public spaces.
Policy and operations group manager Gareth Green said the proposal would make it easier for people to access the rules that were of particular interest.
Minor changes are proposed to some definitions for clarity, and outdated parts of the bylaw and parts already covered by other acts and bylaws have been removed.
Consultation opens today and closes on Friday, February 26 at 5pm. Feedback can be given online www.taupo.govt.nz/consultation or by picking up a form from any council office.
