Do you have a fitting name for Turangi's aquatic centre? Share your idea with Taupo District Council and you could win a year's free membership to the complex!
Taupō District Council is offering the prize to the person who suggests the new name for the complex, as chosen by the Turangi Tongariro Community Board.
Previously known as the Genesis Energy Turangi Aquatic Centre, sponsorship for the pools ended in September so a new name is now needed.
District parks and recreation manager John Ridd said it was a great opportunity for members of the Turangi community to have a hand in naming an important facility.
We know we have lots of creative minds in Turangi who would love a chance to name this fantastic community facility, he said.
Entries can be done through the council website or by dropping a name suggestion into the box at the aquatic centre before October 31.
Top names will be shortlisted and then the winning name chosen by Turangi Tongariro Community Board members. If the chosen name has been suggested by multiple people, the winner of the year pass will be drawn at random.
