The rating reaffirms the centre's position as a quality venue by Qualmark, New Zealand's tourism quality assurance organisation. It aims to makes it easy for travellers to select high quality places to stay, things to do, and ways to get around.
The confirmation indicates the Great Lake Centre is held in high regard within corporate conferencing circles and it can continue to use Qualmark's symbol on its promotional material.
Taupo District Council's venue operations manager Scott Attenborough said he was pleased the assessors rated the Great Lake Centre highly.
"The team works really hard to ensure we are providing a quality venue that is run efficiently," he said. "It's fantastic we are continuing to achieve a four star rating and hope to continue this in the future."
