Give your feedback on Kinloch reserves
31 July 2015
Time is running out for the community to have its say on Kinloch's reserves, with one week until submissions close.
Taupo District Council is reviewing the use of several reserves in Kinloch. Before decisions are made the council is asking for feedback on three issues.
The first issue is a proposal to have a mountain bike kiosk in Kinloch Domain Reserve. This would require an amendment to the Kinloch Reserve Management Plan to allow commercial activity on the reserve. The kiosk would act as a hub for mountain biking activities and provide bike hire, transfers, repairs and maintenance and sell parts.
The second issue is around the boat ramp (Scotsman's Ramp) at Kinloch, which is deteriorating. A decision needs to be made about its future.
The final issue is around the appropriate level of vehicle access to the Kinloch Lakefront Reserve. There has been some concern around the damage being done to the tree root systems of a number of notable poplar trees and a decision needs to be made on how to proceed.
More information on these issues is available on the council website. Submissions are open until 5pm on August 7 and can be done online or by picking up hard copy forms from any council office.
