Intersection work nearly complete

The upgrade of the three intersections is progressing well, with work at the intersections of Gascoigne and Tamamutu streets and Ruapehu and Tamamutu streets now complete.

Work at the intersection of Tongariro and Tamamutu streets is expected to be finished by the end of next week. Following this, the medians will be realigned, starting at the Tongariro Street intersection and then followed by Gascoigne and Ruapehu streets intersections.

The work is being done to improve visibility and safety and make the intersections more attractive and user-friendly.

The Council will also consider installing a snowboarder sculpture on the corner of Tamamutu and Tongariro Streets at its December meeting on Tuesday.
