Lakefront Storage Shed

A storage pen and small shed is being built on reserve land near Taupo Boat Harbour, with construction beginning in early December.
The storage pen and shed will hold equipment and boats for the Taupo Waka Ama, Taupo Rowing and Taupo Yacht clubs.

Work begins with the erection of temporary fencing and the marking out of the site, which is next to the yacht club bunker on Ferry Road. In the following days, the earthworks will begin and a retaining wall will be built. The whole project is expected to be completed before Christmas.

The finished result will be a small wooden storage shed, which will be five metres by two metres and sit inside a larger fenced storage pen.

Councillors approved the construction of the shed and pen at their council meeting in August.

Construction has been timed so it does not interfere with any events on or around the lakefront.
