Nappy lady comes to town
Reduce your ecological footprint and find easy solutions to waste-free parenting at a workshop this month.
Nationally renowned 'Nappy Lady', Kate Meads, is coming to Taupo this month to run her popular waste-free parenting workshop. Parents and parents-to-be will receive tips and information on recycling, reducing food waste and packaging, composting and cloth nappy basics.
Stormwater and solid waste asset manager Brent Aitken said the council wanted to see less going into landfills.
"We are passionate about minimising what goes into our landfills and know there are smarter ways to operate," he said. "Council is pleased to support the workshop as it contributes to our goal of minimising waste in our district."
The workshop will be held at the Great Lake Centre on Friday, September 30 from 6pm to 8.30pm and costs $25 plus booking fee for an individual or couple to attend. All those who attend receive a waste-free parenting starter pack worth $100 to take home.
