Work on the widening of parts of Poihipi Road is on track and expected to be completed by the end of this month.
We're doing the work to ensure a safer route between Taupo and Kinloch for both motorists and cyclists.
Contractor Inframax has completed most of the work on a 500 metre section east of Tukairangi Road and 100 metres at the Poihipi Road power station entrance.
A 350 metre stretch west of Mapara Road is currently under construction and should be finished by mid-November.
Inframax is also undertaking some work for us on Broadlands Road. This is a full reconstruction and widening of a 500 metre-long section about 3km north of View Road. It is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Please take care around our contractors through these road works and drive safely and slowly.
Everything should be completed and looking good in time for summer!
