Road works on Spa Road

Road works are underway along Spa Road to prepare it for resealing in the New Year.

The work is being undertaken between 6pm and 5am, at the Spa Road/Tongariro Street intersection, between the Ruapehu Street and Taniwha Street intersections on Spa Road, and between the Rotokawa Street and Tauhara Road intersections on Spa Road.

All failed pavement is being dug out and replaced, and a temporary surface will be put in place to allow the work to settle before permanent resealing is carried out in February 2018.

The night schedule has been adopted to reduce inconvenience to road users, but some temporary traffic controls will be in place during the day. The work is expected to be completed early next week.
