Three appointments made to DGLT Board
29 March 2016
Taupo District Council today made three appointments to the governance board of its tourism marketing agency Destination Great Lake Taupo.
Current chairman Ray Salter and board member Dennis Christian were returned to their positions while Canoe and Kayak Taupo managing director Laura Duncan was appointed for the first time.
Mr Salter is a tourism consultant with TRC Tourism Ltd and Mr Christian is a managing director of Flying Kiwi Adventures, a nationwide tour operator focussing on sharing New Zealand's outdoors with international visitors.
The positions on the board became vacant after the resignation of Andrea Blair and the completion of the three year term for the re-appointed directors.
The appointees were selected by the Mayor and councillors following an extensive recruitment process. The selection criteria included business and tourism industry experience, marketing expertise particularly in the digital field, and an understanding of governance issues.
The appointments are for a three-year term.
