Road reseal programme to get underway
Taupō District Council's annual road resealing programme is about to get underway, with roads in Taupō, Tokaanu and Pukawa marked for reseal along with a number of rural roads.
Every summer the council reseals roads that require attention over the course of several weeks. This season up to $1.2 million will be spent on resealing roads.
Priority is given to roads with surface cracking, potholes and other issues which could pose a risk to motorists.
Infrastructure manager Denis Lewis said road resealing was due to get underway on Monday, February 18, weather permitting, and should take about four weeks.
"We ask that motorists pay extra attention around our contractors during this time, slow down and take care," he said.
