Roaming deer reported on Whangamata Road in Kinloch
There has been an increased presence of deer on Whangamata Road near the Kinloch Transfer Station.
Logging activity up on the hill may have driven the deer down the gully between Holyoakes Road and Oakdale Drive.
With several near misses reported, Taupō District Council are urging everyone to take extra special care driving in this area, especially at night. Please stick to the speed limit and drive to the conditions.
Council are organising wandering stock signs to be erected urgently, one just west of Holyoakes Road and the other about 500 metres west of Oakdale Drive.
If you see roaming deer, you can report it on 07 376 0899.
