It’s a big shout out to local company Shelter Architects who took home a prestigious New Zealand Architecture Award on Wednesday night for the amazing job they did on the new Taupō Airport Terminal!
The Waikato and Bay of Plenty award for Commercial Architecture praised the building’s raking eaves and efficient, functional layout that highlighted the full-height glazing and interior design elements that gave the Terminal a sense of place.
The award noted that the success of the project is attributed to community engagement and collaboration with local iwi, artists and vested parties, but we’re pretty sure Paul Raven and the team at Shelter Architects were the real stars of the show – thanks folks, you’ve really done us proud!
