Top prize for Taupō Airport
Taupō Airport General Manager Wayne Wootton says past recipients of the award have included major New Zealand airports such as Auckland and Wellington, so it’s great for Taupō Airport to achieve such recognition.
“This is a great achievement for one of the smaller airports in the country and just shows what can be done with a collaborative approach and a very experienced project team.”
The new airport terminal was designed by local firm Shelter Architects and was built by Taupō’s Watts Construction, while the carpark was designed by Todd Land Development and built by Camex Civil.
This is the second award the airport has received this year, following on from the New Zealand Architecture Award it received in June.
