Wastewater overflow in Acacia Bay

2.30pm Friday 12 April

There has been a small wastewater overflow due to a blockage at Demar Rise in Acacia Bay which has made its way through the storm water network into the lake.

Signage has been erected in the area and the first batch of samples have been taken; due to the heavy rainfall we are conscious that there may be an increased amount of material coming down through stormwater and causing issues around clarity for our sampling. We will receive the first test results tomorrow.

Local Iwi and Waikato Regional Council have been informed.
