New maintenance contractor welcomed aboard
It was all hands on deck earlier this week as we welcomed HEB Construction to the Taupō District Council whānau.
HEB is our new maintenance contractor so you can expect to see them out and about throughout the district, helping us to keep looking after the place we love.
Council’s general manager infrastructure and community services Tony Hale says HEB brings a wealth of experience to the partnership.
“It’s great to have the HEB team working alongside us. They will be focusing on the core business of road maintenance – reseals and repairs – but also on signage and keeping our streets in good shape. They will also be carrying out several construction projects over the summer period, including rural road seal extensions and arterial road widening. We’re looking forward to a really good working relationship as we know they are as passionate about looking after the district as we are."
HEB North Island regional manager roading Simon Pollard says: “We are a big company with a national presence but we’re employing Taupō locals and we are now excited to call Taupō home, having set up a depot in Rakaunui Road.”
