Open trenching to get underway on Lake Terrace

Unforeseen ground conditions along Lake Terrace mean our team switch to installing the new sewer main using open trenching.

Until now the install has been making solid progress with directional drilling threading the pipe beneath the road surface, but soft, sandy soil between Tremaine Avenue and Shepherd Road is not suitable for drilling. The team are working on a plan of action to trench this section and have shifted the drill further south to allow them to drill back towards Tremaine Avenue and link up with the trench.

While the team are having to change the way they're installing the pipe, Lake Terrace will continue to remain open to traffic with a reduced speed limit in place.

The good news is that following this we have just one final stretch of pipe to install on Lake Terrace.
