New Zealand ShakeOut, our national earthquake drill and tsunami hīkoi, is back on Thursday 24 October at 9.30am.
For ShakeOut, everybody takes a moment to practice their Drop, Cover, and Hold. It might feel silly, but it’s important to know what to do if there’s a big earthquake.

Every business or school that registers goes in the draw to win first aid training for four people, plus access to practical, evidence-based video learning exploring crucial leadership and wellbeing skills to help leaders, managers, and teams in times of disruption.
