Santa is coming to the Taupō District

The Tremains Taupō Santa Parade is back this Sunday 1 December from 2pm followed by the Volunteer Taupō Community Carnival from 3pm in Tongariro South Domain.

Music, games, food trucks and Santa means Christmas is all wrapped up!

With literally hundreds of participants, don’t miss out. Shops will be open all day so you can shop, shop, shop after the parade just in time for Christmas.

Taupō Santa Parade route and road closures

The parade begins on Lake Terrace, turns right onto Ruapehu Street travelling North, then left onto Tamamutu Street before finishing on Tongariro North Domain.

To allow Santa and his helpers get safely through town, the following closures will be in place:

• Lake Terrace (North and South bound lanes) between Tītīraupenga Street and Ruapehu Street from 8am to 4pm.
• Roberts Street from Tongariro Street to Ruapehu Street from 9am to 4pm.
• Ruapehu Street (North and South bound lanes) between Lake Terrace and Tamamutu Street from 9am to 4pm.
• Tamamutu Street (North and South bound lanes) between Tongariro Street and Ruapehu Street from 9am to 4pm.
• Tongariro Street (South bound lane) from Spa Road to Tamamutu Street from 9am to 4pm.
