Kinloch Triathlon Festival is back this weekend
The Kinloch Triathlon Festival is back this Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 February, with road closures to be in place to help keep everyone safe.
The festival attracts about 500 competitors and supporters to the area with races for people of all ages and abilities.
On Saturday, the Aquathon (swim and run only) events will take place without any impact on the local roads. On Sunday, the main triathlon races are happening and to keep everyone safe some roads will be closed and traffic management will be in place.
Road closures on Sunday 16 February:
- Kinloch Road (from Kenrigg Road to Mata Place), closed from 8am to 1.30pm*
- Mata Place (from Kinloch Road to entry into Kinloch Domain), closed from 8am to 1.30pm*
*Residents will be able to enter and exit these streets between races, under the guidance of the traffic marshals.
There will be slower speed limits on Sunday too:
- Kinloch Road and Kenrigg Road – speed reduction from 50kph to 30kph applies. (As motorists approach the intersection of Kinloch Road with Lisland Drive, and Kenrigg Road with Kinloch Road).
- Oakdale Drive – speed reduction from 50kph to 30kph applies.
Thanks for your help and patience - Tri Sport Taupō would not be able to run this event without it
Best of luck to everyone involved!
