Anzac Day services and parades
This Anzac Day, we reflect on the sacrifices made by those in our armed forces who have served overseas. Everyone is invited to attend services and parades being held throughout the Taupō district on Friday 25 April 2025 as follows:
TAUPŌ
- 6am: Taupō Dawn Service - Taupō Cenotaph, Great Lake Centre
All veterans, past and present service personnel, local youth groups and other community members wishing to take part in the parade, report to the parade marshal, 5.40am, at the rear carpark of the Great Lake Centre. Parade steps off at 5.50am. Full service dress equivalent (including medals) to be worn.
- 9am: Taupō Cemetery Service - Taupō Services Cemetery, Rickit Street
- 10.30am Taupō Civic Service - Taupō Cenotaph, Great Lake Centre
All veterans, past and present service personnel, local youth groups and other community members wishing to take part in the parade, report to the parade marshal, 10.15am, at the rear carpark of the Great Lake Centre. Parade steps off 10.25am. Full service dress equivalent (including medals) to be worn.
SOUTHERN LAKE TAUPŌ
- 6am: Tokaanu Civic Service - Tokaanu Marae, Puanga Street**
- 10.30am Tūrangi Cemetery Service: Tūrangi Services Cemetery, Aonini Road
- 11am: Tūrangi Civic Service - Tokaanu-Tūrangi and Districts RSA*
- 5pm: Sunset Service in Kuratau - Omori Kuratau Community Hall, 220 Omori Road, Omori
*All veterans, past and present service personnel, local youth groups and other community members wishing to take part in the parade, report to the parade marshal in Tūrangi town centre, to march to the Tokaanu-Tūrangi and Districts RSA for an 11am service.
** Note the 6am service that will take place at Tokaanu Marae was originally advertised for Waihi Marae, however it will be closed for marae works.
MANGAKINO
- 10am: Mangakino Cemetery Service - Mangakino Services Cemetery, Lake Road
- 11am: Mangakino Civic Service - Mangakino District Services and Citizens Club, Wairenga Road
