Overview of facilities
One landfill and resource recovery centre in Taupō and five transfer stations located around the district cater for the safe disposal of general rubbish, green waste and recycled items.
Opening hours vary across the different locations, while all facilities are closed on Christmas Day, Good Friday and up to 1pm on Anzac Day.
Please be aware hazardous waste that can endanger human health, such as asbestos, medical waste and radioactive substances are not accepted at the Broadlands Road landfill or any of our transfer stations. If you have waste that may be considered dangerous or hazardous or you are not sure about, please contact us prior to visiting one of our sites to see if it will be accepted.
