Water supply outage in Motuoapa

UPDATE: 3.30pm Tuesday 4 February

Upgrades to the water supply network in Motuoapa have all been completed this afternoon. Our team are now flushing the system and ask that if you notice any cloudiness in your tap water or airlocks, please run an outside tap for up to 15 minutes. This should help to clear the cloudiness and return water back to normal.

There will be a water shutdown in the Motuoapa area, Tuesday 4 February from 9am to 3pm to allow our water team to carry out some upgrades to the drinking water network.

  • Residents in the Motuoapa hillside area will have no water supply during this time. Please ensure you have sufficient water stored to cover your likely needs during the shutdown period.
  • Residents and businesses in lower Motuoapa by the lakeside will continue to have water supplied, but this will be lower pressure than usual. Where possible, please reduce water use as this will really help out the team working on the ground.

Our team will be working as quickly as possible to restore supply.

Letters were sent to residents last week and a digital sign has been in place at the entrance to Motuoapa to let everyone know about the upcoming outage.
