Animals, birds and bees & control of dogs bylaw pre-consultation

Overview

Did you know we have bylaws that outline what you need to consider when keeping animals, birds and bees? These bylaws are due for review but before we draft them, we want your feedback on what you think we need to include!

The bylaws cover things like:

• Dog ownership, including where you are allowed to walk your dog.
• Keeping of bees in residential areas
• Keeping livestock in residential areas
• Penalties for breaking the bylaw

We conducted a pre-consultation to help us frame up what new/revised animals, birds and bees bylaw will look like, as well as the control of dogs bylaw.

Submissions closed on Friday October 16, 2020. Thank you for all of the submissions received.

We are now collating all the feedback and will use it to draft the bylaws and then we will then do a formal consultation with the community. This is expected to happen in December 2020 and January 2021.
