The Taupo-Kaingaroa ward by-election was conducted by postal ballot using the first past the post electoral system. Voting closed at 12 noon on Friday 23 May.
The final results were declared on Tuesday 27 May.
The voter return was 36.43 per cent, being 6734 voting papers.
