Looking for love and litter - this Sunday!
Don’t forget our mix and mingle litter pick-up event coming up on Sunday!
Love & Litter is an initiative by our environmental ranger Shannon Hanson to reach new groups of people and encourage them to come along and care for our place.
If you wish, you can wear a T-shirt colour to indicate whether you’re open to making connections, red if you’re taken or any other colour if you’re just there for the litter.
A study by online dating site online dating site Zoosk showed 78 percent of singles want to date someone who cares about the environment and an event like Looking for Love and Litter is a perfect way to connect, Shannon says.
“But it’s just about finding like-minded people, it doesn’t have to be romantic, it’s just about coming and mingling.”
After the two-hour clean up, the Pub’n Grub is offering a discount for anyone who wants to come along to mingle and chat with their fellow litter picker-uppers.
Meet on the lakefront opposite Taupō Mini Golf at 10am. Taupō is in Red under the Covid-19 traffic light framework so vaccine passes are required to attend.
