Oceania Triathlon Cup in Taupō on Sunday
The elite of New Zealand’s triathlon athletes will be battling it out at the 2022 Oceania Triathlon Cup in Three Mile Bay, Taupō on Sunday.
On the line are qualifying spots for NZ’s Birmingham Commonwealth Games team, while places for our World Junior Championship team for Montreal are also up for grabs. The compact race course will make for some fantastic viewing spots so get along and see this world-class triathlon event, including Taupō’s own local superstar Nicole van der Kaay!
To help keep everybody safe during the event some local roads, as listed below, will be closed between 6am and noon on Sunday 10 April.
- Heeni Street – from Wharewaka Road to Kohatu Parade
- Pokaka Crescent – from Heeni Street to Kohatu Parade
- Kapuka Place – at Heeni Street
- Teti Street – from Heeni Street to Kohatu Parade
- Kohatu Parade – from Wharewaka Road to Heeni Street
- Secombe Park access road – from Heeni Street to the boat ramp
Entry and exit for residents during the event will be available when it’s safe to do so. As the Three Mile Bay boat ramp will be closed to the public during the above times, Two Mile Bay boat ramp is a great alternative to launch your boat and only a few minutes away.
