Lake Terrace infrastructure progressing well
The new water and wastewater infrastructure along Lake Terrace is well on track, with nearly a kilometre of pipe installed so far.
The project will reduce pressure on our existing network and make sure it can meet the demands of our growing district.
Project manager Peter van Niekerk says a further 480m of sewer main have now been welded - you can’t miss it if you drive past Taharepa Reserve - and is ready to be installed.
“We’re about to start work on the next phase of the project, between Napier Road and Mere Road,” Mr van Niekerk says.
“Please allow yourself a little extra time if you are travelling that route. We’re working closely with our events team to make sure there is as little disruption as possible to locals and the visitors we will be hosting and would like to thank the community for their patience.”
This phase of the work is expected to be finished in September.
