The Tūrangi Turtle Pools are now better than ever and to celebrate we’re giving away a 12 month Family Pass and other fantastic prizes!

Download the colouring-in competition entry form and simply return to us to be in with a chance to win. The competition is open to kids aged 5 to 15 years old from the Taupō District.

Entries must be received no later than 5pm on Sunday 16 February 2025.

From Saturday 1 February, the Turtle Pools will be open longer all year round, opening at 10am every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You’ll notice the new vibrant design matches the Tūrangi community, linking the recent past to its family-friendly future, with Swim School, an aquatic climbing wall and so much more to enjoy!

Entries and prizes

Entries must be returned no later than 5pm on Sunday 16 February 2025 to Taupō District Council at:

  • Tūrangi Customer & Visitor Information Centre at 1 Ngawaka Place
  • Tūrangi Turtle Pools
  • Tūrangi Library, or
  • To your local Community Rep.

All entrants must have the consent of their parent or legal guardian.

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

  • 1st prize: 1x 12 month Family Membership* pass to Tūrangi Turtle Pools (worth $420), valid for 1 year and must be started by 1 April 2025.
  • 2nd prize: 1x 3 month child (age 5-16 yrs) membership (worth $45) to Tūrangi Turtle Pools.
  • 3rd prize: 1x Family pass* (worth $24) valid for 1 entry to Tūrangi Turtle Pools.
  • Honourable mentions – x3 spot prizes: casual child (6-15 yrs) entry vouchers (worth $4.50 each) to Tūrangi Turtle Pools.

*Family consists of 2 adults and 3 children (up to 15) or 1 adult and 4 children (up to 15) only.

Competition terms and conditions

Who can enter

  • Taupō District Council staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
  • Only one entry per person. Maximum age limit is 15 years of age.
  • Entries must be received no later than 5pm on Sunday 16 February 2025.
  • Late entries will not be considered.
  • Design content deemed offensive will not be eligible for entry.

Winning designs

  • There will be three winning designs chosen by the judge.
  • The judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  • No cash alternative is offered. Prizes are not transferable.
  • Prizes must be collected in person from the Turtle Pools.
  • The winners will be notified by phone.
  • By entering the competition winners agree to their names being published and to be photographed and or interviewed by Taupō District Council for publicity purposes.
