Design your own bike helmet competition

Win a bike helmet with your own design!

Calling all creative kids! Design your own helmet and it could be brought to life by a professional artist.

Download our entry form, get arty and you could win a helmet with your design on it. The competition is open to kids aged 5 to 12 years old from the Taupō District.

Entries must be received no later than 5pm on Thursday 29 February 2024.

Entries and prizes

To enter, participants must be eligible for one of the following four age range categories as at 1 January 2024: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 years of age.

There will be one winning design in each category, plus one judges choice design. A total of five winning designs will be allocated.

Each winner will receive a bike helmet with their winning design on it!

Send your entry to us in the post or drop it off:

  • Post your entry to: Taupō District Council, Private Bag 2005, Taupō Mail Centre, Taupō 3352
  • Or drop your entry into one of our council customer service and visitor Information centres:
    • 30 Tongariro Street, Taupō
    • Rangatira Drive, Mangakino
    • 1 Ngawaka Place, Tūrangi

Entries must be received no later than 5pm on Thursday 28 February 2024.

Competition terms and conditions

  • Participants must be eligible for one of the following four categories as at 1 January 2024: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 years of age.
  • Taupō District Council, Bike Taupō, Top Gear Cycles, Evo Cycles, My Ride, Torpedo 7, and Pack & Pedal staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter
  • Only one entry per person.
  • Entries must be received no later than 5pm on Thursday 28 February 2024.
  • Late entries will not be considered.
  • Design content deemed offensive will not be eligible for entry.

  • There will be one winning design in each student category, plus one judges choice design.
  • A total of five winning designs will be allocated.
  • Judges are made up of a panel with representatives from Bike Taupō, Pack and Pedal, as well as Taupō District Council.
  • The winners will be notified by phone.
  • By entering the competition winners agree to their names being published and to be photographed and or interviewed by Taupō District Council for publicity purposes.
