Development overview
Work is underway on a new industrial property development adjacent to Crown Road that will see the creation of 18 industrial lots on Council-owned land.
The new lots will be a welcome addition with the Taupo district seeing solid growth in recent years, particularly around small and medium businesses. Being able to support that growth by freeing up land and developing it for industrial lots is a win-win for the district as it not only means more jobs for locals but also raises revenue.
The development will also see significant improvements to stormwater management in the area including new native plants in the surrounding gullies. We will also be adding a pathway along the gully’s edge to link Crown Road with the ETA shared pathway and improve connectivity for our cycleways.
The development is being undertaken in three stages, with the final stage scheduled for completion in mid-2025 with titles
expected to be available towards the end of 2025 or early 2026.
