If you are interested in researching your family history or whakapapa, many resources are available for you at our district libraries.

As well as relevant books, online resources and microfiche the Lake Taupō Branch of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists operates at the Taupō Library offering voluntary assistance at set times. Please note: the branch will be taking a break for the summer from 14 December 2023 to 8 February 2024.

The Ancestry.com website provides access to over 910 million searchable history records. Free access to Ancestry Library Edition is only available within our libraries, either by using one of the library computers or using your own device while connected to the library WiFi.

NZ Electoral Rolls 1853 - 1981 - Free access is only available in the library.
