Election results 2022

The 2022 Taupō District Council election was for the mayor and 12 councillors, including two from the newly established Te Papamārearea Māori ward, seven from the Taupō ward and one from the Tūrangi/Tongariro ward.

No election was required for the Mangakino-Pouakani ward or Taupō East Rural ward, as one nomination was received for the one vacancy in each.

The voter return was 46.06%, being 12,537 votes, excluding special votes.

The final result for the Taupō District Council elections held on Saturday 8 October is as follows.
